Gradescope is an AI-powered grading platform that helps educators save time and get deeper insights into student performance by automating and streamlining the grading of exams, homework, quizzes, and coding assignments.

Formerly known as Pandagrader, the tool began as an in-house prototype developed to simplify grading workflows.

Founded in 2014 by Arjun Singh, Sergey Karayev, Ibrahim Awwal, and Pieter Abbeel at UC Berkeley’s AI Lab, Gradescope has grown into a leading ed-tech solution headquartered in Berkeley, California.
